Wholesome versions of popular favorites – often described as “junk food without the junk!”

The best thing that parents, students and school administrators say about our food – other than “It’s delicious!” – is that we “get it.” We recognize that a nutritious lunch won’t do much good if it stays in the bag, gets traded or ends up in the trash. That’s why our chefs eliminate the “yuck” factor normally associated with healthy options by preparing wholesome versions of foods that kids crave, like chicken nuggets, cheese quesadillas and hot dogs (in our case, made with 100% naturally-raised turkey). By using only the freshest natural and organic ingredients, we’re teaching kids and their families that good nutrition doesn’t have to mean sacrificing their favorites.

We’re creating new favorites, as well. Take, for instance, two of our most popular dessert sides, each comprised of fresh whole fruit:

  • Slice up a variety of apples, roll them in lemon juice and cinnamon, package them in a cup and – voila – Apple Medley with Cinnamon.
  • Peel a banana, slice it into chunks, put it back in its peel (to prevent browning) and pair it with a dip of natural vanilla yogurt mixed with caramel. Voila again! Banana Dippers.

Each of our regularly-sized lunches contains an entrée (both hot and cold) and two side dishes/snacks, along with a bottled water; natural juices, organic milk and additional snacks are also available. With 27 unique combinations daily, there is always something that even the pickiest eaters will enjoy. The Junior meal, designed for younger children with smaller appetites (usually 1st grade and younger) comes with smaller portions and is lower cost.

While most of the items are prepared fresh each morning “as if Mom had made them,” our lunches also include single servings from leading producers of natural and organic foods, Like Amy’s Kitchen, Annie’s Homegrown, Kashi, Whole Foods and Stonyfield Farm. All of our menus have been reviewed by nutritionists to ensure that each day’s offerings contain seasonal fruits and vegetables, whole grains, superior dairy products and quality proteins.
